Review Maintenance Repair

AblegereifeAblegereifeAblegereife

At least once a year round slings, hoisting belts and lashings straps have to be checked on their operational capability by a competent person. This is not a guide to checking your lifting and load securing equipment. A review should always be performed before each use and depending on the application, purpose and duration could be necessary already after the first use!

Our professional service team supports you, also on-the- spot support. We arrange simple visual inspection or verification of the load by tensile test or static load tests.

Replacement state/ withdrawl from service

Replacement state for load securing equipment means that specified wear characteristics have been achieved and due to securing means products may no longer be used.

In case of damage, such as tissue incisions, exposed scrims and more - see below-the load and lifting equipment must not be used anymore!

Lifting and load securing equipment without manufacturer's identification and without load limits must be also discarded. Cargo securing equipment and lifting equipment have no temporal expiration date, but may be used as long until the EN 12195 - 2 or EN 1492-1, 1492-2 described wear limits have been reached, if a visual inspection is made before regularly and goods have been stocked in the right way.

The replacement state occurs, e.g.:

  • At lashing belts:
    • yarn breaks or cuts of more than 10%
    • damage to the seams
    • deformation due to heat affection
    • missing or unreadable label
    • damage caused by exposure to aggressive chemicals
  • At ratchets:
    • breaks
    • cracks
    • significant corrosion
    • deformations of the wave
    • missing manufacturer’s instructions
    • missing LC specification
  • Accessories such as hooks and fittings have to be discarded:
    • mechanical damage
    • by pinching
    • notch
    • cracking
    • deformation due to bending, twisting or pressing
    • missing manufacturer’s instructions
    • missing LC specification
  • Round slings have to be discarded at:
    • deformation due to thermal influence such as radiation, friction
    • damage to the sheath
    • visible PES scrims
    • crack of the safety stitch
    • missing or unreadable label
    • influence of illegal, aggressive substances without manufacturer clarification
